There was a lonely shark
cursed with a loving heart
he tried his best to be someone else

but there was a problem you see
he was still a shark you see
tho he’d shed a tear as he bit you in two

every once in a while
he’d try to smile
but nothing could hide his pointy teeth

oh how could this be?
a self loathing great white
with sadness in his heart
as he gnashes and bites

Too much for one man
I’ve invited them all to the party
I was told to kick ‘em out.

I was a brown bear
With my brown hair
My claws could cut through steel

I was a buzzard
With my fellow birds
Circling around for the kill.

I was a jackle
With my evil cackle
Laughing out into the wind

I was a great white
With my deadly might
Biting off a passing fin.

I was a red ant
Surrounded by dead ants
Running from the bees

I was a Tyrannosaur
A ferocious dinosaur
Ending lives and breaking trees

my faith and the flies are the same you understand? They’re just flying around my carcass trying to find a place to land

When the darkness comes and camoflauges my shame, I’ll reach into the night and hope for God’s grace

the thing about grace is that it’s not something you deserve. it’s a selfless gift given not something you’ve earned.

He called himself a king, you see
He called himself his majesty
He was proud of his savagery
He was a king of barbarity

His guilty conscience gone, you see
He ruled himself so casually
He blocked out all the casualties
He was a king of vulgarity

He was a king who was obsessed
He was a king full of wickedness
He was a king known for atrociousness
He was a king known for viciousness

He was not a king for long, you see
He had to answer for his atrocities
He had to pay for his brutality
His kingdom now a democracy

No one deserves a broken heart
O how I know I hate mine

But it’s what I do have
I prayed to God for a sign

It was clear He wasn’t listening
I did not know where to start

Would I just always be stuck with
This poor defenseless pathetic heart

I showed my heart to the Devil
He said “Now what would I want with this?”

He slammed it down onto the table
He screamed that it was useless

So I put my heart back inside me
I shivered as I felt it’s cold

I traveled the paths in the woods
As the lonely days made me grow old

Just me alone in the wilderness
Holding a useless heart in my depths

I walked the path of loneliness
Keeping a cold stone in my chest

Sink…Sink….Sink….And Soon The Ship Vanished into the Blue

about jumping over board.

With no where left to go

As the ship continues to sink
Lost among the murky depths

The path that I have chose
Oh God I’m sorry that I failed

The water and it’s icy cold
Have frozen me and my bones
I’ll become food for the Whale

The Great Queen

The Great Queen looked down at her kingdom
And knew she could not deceive them
They were her fellow ants
So she took that stance
And decided to just tell them

“We ants are few, but we are proud
We’ve lost many to the clouds
Now what we face
Will give us chase
For the great light is abound”

“I’ve seen what all it can do
With a turn from the sun in the morning dew
The great beam comes down
Burns all around
And leaves us all turned into stew”

That’s when it did appear
And right then it became quite clear
What had to be done
For her daughters and sons
The Great Queen swallowed her fear

“My fellow ants you all must run
Leave it to me what has to be done
I know it seems harsh
But you all must march
And leave me to handle the great burn”

Her kingdom of ants with tears in their eyes
Gathered up their loved ones and gathered up supplies
The beam began to shine
As the ants got into line
They would tell the tale of the Great Queen’s demise

The ants began to march as the ground turned red
They looked back at their queen with sadness and dread
Their situation dire
Their kingdom turned to fire
And from their suffering they fled

The Great Queen grew the courage of ten strong ants
She dug into the ground and she took her stance
“You will not have them
For I love all of them”
Then the great queen took her chance

She flung herself up into the atmosphere
As the beam engulfed her and her fears
She did as she must
She turned into dust
And her cries turned into ghostly tears

The infamous glass looked down with delight
And chuckled to itself over the queens demise
It looked up ahead
Knowing the ants had fled
The evil beam screamed with all it’s might

“Oh curse you ole mighty Great Queen
I thought your sacrifice obscene
Now it’s quite clear
It seems to appear
You saved your loved ones from the wrath of my beam!”

The kingdom of ants grew old
But the tale of their Great Queen was always told
Told to their kids
And their kids told their kids
The Great Queens story of being brave and bold

Perhaps if You Lay Your Head to the Ground, You Can Hear that Sound of Hope

In the area of orchards and sun
where the clouds are a welcomed sign
the heat beats down upon the soil
and the tomatoes pray for a summer rain

in the place of depth and blue
where the atlantic meets the sky
The greedy ice claims another trophy
as the unsinkable sink below

In the fields where a giant stood
who mocked the weak and shook the ground
the smallest man with the greatest courage
struck down the monster with rope and stone

Where humanity placed the savior upon a cross
and the crowd was so easily swayed
the rock was rolled and laid to the side
death could not conquer Him after all.
